Mods, I have talked with Richard and he approved me posting this thread...we are offering an actual prize here, he suggested I post this to stop it from being removed, thank you.

Dominator Fireworks is happy to announce that the first batch of product has been simulated in the Finale Fireworks program.

To kick off the release, we want to offer The Dominator Spring Showdown Contest, with a Prize of 325.00 (GBP) in Dominator product. Product will be shipped free to legal states, GLASS, the PGI, or available for pick-up at participating dealers , if one of our suppliers is not a viable option, we will arrange payment as the prize.

The initial batch of products is limited, however we have plans to include most consumer cakes and shells and all of the 1.4g Pro line in Finale as well. The Spring Showdown contest will end April 15th and will lead into a second contest starting May 1st with more products available. The second contest will be larger and the winner's show will be sponsored to be fired in the Unlimited Class C Competition at the PGI. Participation in the Spring Showdown contest will be an added bonus to the judging of the second contest, so we encourage you to enter into both.

Spring Showdown Contest Rules:

- 4 minute maximum runtime. 500 ques max.
- Music or not, your choice.
- Must use currently simulated Dominator product only. The product is being made available in both the pro and consumer versions, We will allow the break apart cakes feature to be used.
- Must be 18 or older, or have a parent we can contact.
- You can enter your show at anytime up until April 15th, at which time it will be closed and we will review all shows. But entering earlier will get you more votes!
- To officially enter the contest, send an email to ed@dominatorfireworks.com with a link to your show, or letting me know it has been saved to the shows tab in Finale, and under what username.

- Be sure to include your name, screen name, and an email address and phone number you can be reached at.
- The winner will be announced April 30th to allow plenty of time to get you your prize for the 4th 2010. A winner will be chosen based on popular vote and a judging panel.

If you do not have Finale Fireworks scripting software and want to participate, you can click this this link and click the Finale Banner for more info. Dominator has negotiated with Finale to include our consumer product in all versions, including the 10.00 (GBP) version of this awesome software, making it very affordable for you to get the program, and see if you like it.
Get creating!

Here is a sample show of our consumer product in Finale Fireworks.

I'm assuming the prizes are Cat 4, or a Cat 3 and 4 mix?

Is this a US-based competition then?

i dont think they have any dealers in the uk, so it would be a cash prize, though you do have to buy / have finale software to enter.

mind you its a good program to have to make pyro musicals, i have the pro edition and im just waiting for there export to firebywire to come out.

Hello, and thank you for the replies. No, this is not a US based contest in fact, I just received an entry from the Phillippines...Dominator is a China Manufacturer of a full line of consumer, Prox and Professional fireworks. This contest however does involve consumer fireworks only, as mentioned if a supplier is not readily available we can arrange payment to the winner, or if you have a favorite supplier we can contact them and try to work with them to allow you to pick up fireworks and we would reimburse them. The contest is very popular in the US and we have many companies who import our product there that is why those events were mentioned as delivery options.

I have downloaded the demo version of this and quite enjoyed using it.

Question though. Can you change the fireworks ie cakes, fountains etc duration and effects in the proper versions? I may have a cone that lasts for 45 seconds but am i liited to a cone on there that lasts 60 seconds? Can someone give me more in depth details on the full version? Also regarding an equipment list, can you select the amount of tubes you have in your racks for example?

Thanks in advance.

Mixologist, there are over 5,000 fireworks in the Finale Database at this time, and it is added to every day by users creating their own. You can edit a firework to change it's height, duration, sound...the possibilities are almost endless!

Again, here is a sample show I did using our consumer product. CLICK HERE Sure, it is unrealistic firing from the Arch but it is fun to be creative! This is also a very powerful tool for display companies to use as a sales tool, instead of handing a potential client a quote on paper with a shell count, you can now design the show and put it on a DVD and SHOW them exactly what they will be getting for their money, surely this will win you bids on displays you would not get without!

Cheers! Ed

the fountains are limited to max 60 sec but im sure a quick message on there forum you can request it to be increased, though cakes candles ect can be a lot longer, you can edit any firework from height, burst, multi colour stars and save it as your own. im at the moment making all the fireworks that i have access to.

there seems to be a lot of changes every week as more is added, its still a very new product.

ps if you going to buy it please be aware there may be some big pricing changes and a new business version just coming out which you can read on their forum.

Thanks for that i have had a look on the forums now for most of the evening and found it very informative.

What i cant work out is the mortors and racks scenario. Does the pro edition allow you to input your quantity of tubes per rack etc and then give youa list per firing site at the end? Also this timecoding im very new too, but going to continue reading to find out what it is exactly and how it works!!

at the moment (it may change) for every shell you put in the show it knows you need a mortar to go with it so when you tell it to make a inventory report it will add up all the mortar tube (in sizes) and give a total per size

but i thing they are working on (business edition) may give a birds eye view of the site to place the racks then you can dop the shells into the racks as you go on screen)

time code wise depends on your firing system, i use firebywire (which dont use timecode) but its a way to keep everything in sync.

Great post PDC, Finale has just released it's newest update, allowing mine sequencing and comet runs to be entered as a formula, and automatically placing them on the time line for you making it very easy to create them.
