HCB is Hexa Chloro Benzene -now a suspected carcinogen

The presence of HCB would get that compound banned in the EU now, including a proven method of disposal inc the safe disposal of the HCB component. All that when you have paid the Chinese up front in US$ then you have to pay import duties and VAT then you have to pay for the approved destruction

Hexachlorobenzene. It is a benzene ring with chlorine atoms on all sides. Is it generally considered the best chlorine donor because if the high chlorine content and structure. American suppliers will probably have no trouble shipping it to you since it is not an oxidizer. Just do not allow it to get into your environment.

It's the only likely substitute but sometimes the lack of carbon (fuel) means that it's not always a perfect sub.

It's a very unusual and interesting composition, and what's more: most chemicals except the HCB are cheap and easy to get hold of. I have all of them except for copper oxide and HCB and copper oxide is simply made out of copper carbonate.

Any ideas on how to make hexachloroethane or where to buy it?

Keten has Hexachloroethane. I´m not sure if it would work as a HCB substitute though. It´s mainly for smokes. I´ve heard of chlorinated PVC (not Parlon) and Saran working well.

Does anyone know a source for white arsenic, other than in the US?

Chinese produce anything thats toxic, they have no concern for workers health over there as long as its cheap labour.

I'm not in favour of exploiting workers for the mere profit, but this nanny state that we have in the West isn't sane either. I can't even buy potassium nitrate in chrystal form as a fertilizer here anymore, since I don't run a farm or a planthouse. It's perfectly legal to buy, but the company itself denies adult people who aren't farmers to buy it. It's cheaper to buy from foreign countries. Totally insane.
