It's a while since we had a fireworks photography thread on the forum.

I was inspired by finding this wonderful gallery on Digital Photography Review from a recent competition. Does anyone recognise any of the shows?

If you've any recent photos to show off - please post here!

Thanks for the reminder - I really need to finish off my pyro shots from Malta and get them organised into a gallery...

Here's a few teasers for now:

Most of my pyro shots are online in my flickr - there's a collection of sets with pyrotechnic content which can be found here:

They are absolutely awsome, I would love to see these enlarged and framed, I would buy one for sure. I am currently looking to purchase a picture taken by a local photograher of the fireworks over Southend Pier.

They are of little technical merit, and of no artistic merit whatsoever, all are very manipulated.
But beauty is in the eye of the beholder, just don't get conned!

Having a few issues with my FlickR at the moment so my latest galleries are offline.

Here's one of my favourites from this season:

After my hasty derogative comment(which I blame on the single malt whiskey I was drinking at the time) a couple of posts back
I am posting a still from a video of a can shell. Thought you might like to see it .Any fair comments accepted :)

Now that's a cool effect, the split blue and white. Did the shell have a tail to orient it? I take it the difference in the burst sizes is propulsion speed due to the density of barium nitrate. Perhaps some lead shot ballast in the blue stars next time ...

it could simply be burn time differences as it was a full duration shutter time
