I'm not quite sure if they follow the rules.
Come to think of it... in the past I've spoken with a German who did pyro and he said customs in Germany are not a joke.
If you get cought buying chemicals etc. for fireworks making, you're in big trouble.
I assume the Czechs are aware of that and therefor don't ship to Germany.

Thanks everyone for your input so far, it reflects more how this company is / handles orders.

I'm still considering buying timefuse from them :)
I honestly haven't found a cheaper source.

With those Bengals and their lever operated flash grenades I'd be happy to leave them alone. SOME of the things they offer can be shipped as inert parcels, but only a few. The chance of them transporting fuse correctly is IMO nil. Looking where the Czech republic is the chance of these things getting from there to the rest of Europe without passing through Germany also seems remote.

BUT I'm sure someone will find them useful.

Hi all

If its Bickford fuse you want, HFM pyrotechnics in the UK sell it. But in order to use the fuse, you will need the relevant licencing for manufacture in the UK!
On the HFM site it stats 1.5 seconds per inch, but in fact its approximately 3 seconds 1". Bickford is the fuse they use to make a fuze for Cat4 displays, known as pyroclock witch is a device for delays between cues or cues of shells, pyroclocks are coloured and each colour is a different time delay, normally 1.0 - 5.0 secondsPosted Image

I received an email from them and they said they only use surface mail so I assume they do keep it in mind they're shipping flammable products.
When I asked postage price I got this:

Postage of 25 EUR is sponsored by us. Here is regular price list of postage.

2 kg 24,00 €
5 kg 29,00 €
10 kg 38,00 €
15 kg 47,00 €
20 kg 56,00 €
25 kg 65,00 €
30 kg 74,00 €

I don't quite get that part...??

mmmm, not quite all true. It depends on what you need the fuse for to whether a licence is required. No licence is technically required for its purchase, however to use it you may need display operators insurance. If using for rocket motors it differs again etc etc.

The way your post reads, it makes out Bickford is used for making pyroclocks!

I would guess also that the stuff that HFM sell is actually Chinese time fuse (yes I know they describe it as Bickford).
Phew that was close.

Maybe, but if they were shipping with the proper paperwork the postage rate would be more like €300 - €500 for any cat 1 items.
Phew that was close.

Yes they don't respond very fast, but their prices are low so you won't hear me complaining ;). Also, if you buy more you have to pay less. Just ask them (if they respond :P). 300 m Quickmatch (0.50 euro/m) and 100 m timefuse (1.2 euro/m) will give you lower prices then are displayed on their site. If I ordered those things I wouldn't get addtiotional shipping costs.. I'll PM you the email.

How long did it take them to answer? Did you eventually order something?

Seems ever-so-slightly illogical to flaunt postal regs and risk getting into serious trouble to pay way over the odds for QM.

Guess around 3-4 days to. Not yet unfortunetly, I'm planning on ordering next week.

Creepin_pyro, where do you buy your QM then? I don't live in the UK.. I'm from The Netherlands, no one sells QM over here and this is the cheapest source I've found so far.

I'm sure he makes it, as most of us do, hence the rant. Besides it looks awfully expensive; one can make for probably under 10 euros the amount they propose for 150 euros.

In other words, some people even made visco machines rather then risking legal issues for some stupid visco fuse.
