hi all,

for anyone interested in an alternative to the pot chlorate/ antimony trisulphide/nc mixture or pot chlorate/airfloat charcoal/nc formula,
you might be interested in the compounds listed for the martinez j-tek lead free ignitors in their msds.

bismuth trioxide
boron
potassium perchlorate
titanium

maybe bit like a dragons egg type mixture.

boron could be difficult to get but it adds to the database of current formula.

here is another "green" composition (environmental point of view)

no chlorate, perchlorate , or lead compounds.

bismuth trioxide 3 volumes
boron 1 volume

i must work out the actual weight equivalents (it was prepared on a small scale)

ignites easily, producing a fiery hot fireball

based around martinez msds for their Green, Green Mini - EX2010121236 fuseheads.

so on a weight basis this equates to

Bismuth trioxide 91.3%
Boron 8.7%

rounding off to 90 :10 would probably be ok

(a bit like the red lead / silicon delay mixtures)
