Right guys just a quick query with regards to this illuminate consult cat4 course.

I am of the understanding that UKPS wont be running this course again this year and maybe not again due to not many people needing to go on it. I have spoken to illuminate and they do the course at their own site but its £175 per head and a minimum of 5 people. Now i am trying to get on the course ASAP just wondering if anybody else fancies it. I think their base is in cheshire but that may just be their head office and not where they do the course.

Please PM me if you fancy it so i can see if its feasable or not.

Obviously if we can get 12ish people, we would be able to run this at something near the usual cost, but I suspect most that want to do it have done so - happy to be proved wrong though!

Getting two courses full per year is most unlikely within the members of the society and forum. However if you have 12 friends then go for it, do a course. In 2011 some of the first prople to do the course may consider a refresher in order, so numbers may be easier to come by.

To host the course, the society needs 12 - 15 people all paid up for a specific date, we also need a suitable site for both theory and practical sessions together. To get the course at the price level that the society has offered before, lots of things have to be cheap or free -commercial use of a firing range and classroom would cost about a thousand pounds for the day which just isn't on!

As most of the active and responsible members who would organise this are busy now for the nov5th season, as the tutors will be too, there is no realistic chance of this course being hosted by the society til the spring.
