For the past few months Nickpatts and BigG have helped me to moderate the forums, They have continued to keep the forum organised in this time and have assisted in daily tasks.

However, in the interests of fairness, I feel it is time to give some other members the chance to be moderators for a while, until the rota is changed again.

Anyone can apply, although those who have been around here for a while will probably have a better chance. I will choose from the applicants who reply to me in this thread or privately by email / PM.

The nature of the task involves moving posts around, shouting at naughty members, and gently nudging folk to help keep everything nice and organised as per the user guide.

I would like to thank the existing moderators for their work so far.
Cheers

ooh, ooh, Pick me!!

"shouting at naughty members"

i can tell you for certain, i am quite talented at scolding people :D and instead of posting "hey, someone please ban this imbecile" i could ban him myself (yay)

also i have a lot of spare time on my hands since i am on holidays and i need something to do

(all the people with like 1000000 posts will probably get this job but it was worth a shot huh? :P )

I'll give it a shot. Now, how to justify a promotion.

I have been here for some time so I know the ropes and the do's and dont's. I visit here on a regular basis, about three or four times a day so nobody's safe. My posts are well writen (spelling etc) and I have read a lot on the chemistry of pyrotechnics so I could set an example to other members.

I have also played around with the modorating and admin tools for the forum (I have downloaded it my self) so I know my way around backstage.

I would be interested, I always view the forum once or twice daily (often more) and although I was in hibernation for the first year :P have actually been around quite a while; I am member no. 12. I have been into pyrotechnics (officially) for around two years now and have built up a fair bit of experience during that time.

Just bought a new low rent pc but I'm not really interested in the job. There's more qualified folks than myself.

Bernie, you're ideal for the position. You're too modest.

Are you sure you're from Florida? :D

Got for it Bernie!

My grasp of chemistry sucks and I'm none to proud of my communication skills. Seems to me that things are being moderated pretty well as is. If a few of the forums moderators are looking for some down time I'll keep a look out and help where I can. :D

Thanks to everyone who applied. I will make a final decision shortly. Following a quick chat with the existing moderators, they are happy to stay on, so there will now be a total of four moderators.

After much deliberation I would like to welcome Rhodri & Mark (The_Djin) to the moderating team.

Thanks to everyone who applied, as the site (soon to be relaunched) and forum grows, we will probably need more mods.

At the moment, we have enough staff. Richard will make a new post when more are required.
