Just posting from the venue to say that it was good to meet the UKPS members who attended the conference today. I hope that the event was of benefit to all and that you can go on to establish yourselves as individuals and UKPS as a recognised body within the the broader UK explosives community.
Really interesting to listen to all the speakers - and I came away feeling upbeat and positive that we (amateur pyro enthusiasts) may be on the verge of being acknowledged as being able to legally construct, if not transport or store, small devices.
Nice to put a face to the names - I even dared to have a brief chat with my local ELO and I wasn't followed on the way home!
Special thanks to Exat808 for his advice and dare I say encouragement to ukps members - we really are very lucky to have someone of his standing within the industry active on the forum

Exat - thanks very much for the heads up on this event. Did not think we would fit it, but in fact it was brilliant!
Many thanks to the organisers and the speakers.
Made loads of new contacts & got offered at least two jobs! Can't be bad...

Strange looking lot some of them but very friendly, but then they probably think we're odd.

Thanks Phil and Martyn.
Feedback from the organisers is that they warmly welcome the interest shown by UKPS. Please pass the word for next year. Also thanks for the interest shown in the IExpE. We would welcome membership applications from UKPS members.
Well done on the job offers Phil.

Yes I'm certainly looking at applying for membership of the IExpE and later taking the fireworks exam there.
Keep mannequins and watermelons away from fireworks..they always get hurt..
