Just wondering if anyone has seen any lance tubes for sale in the UK. I see them on a few US sites but I'd rather not pay silly shipping prices...

Tired of rolling my own!

I can only suggest that you contact the companies below, and ask if they have any surplus paper tubes from perhaps a cancelled order!

With lance tubes the specification is important, any old tube is not going to do.

Apart from that I was thinking to myself of some lance work designs to celebrate the wedding of the year.

AM I missing something but arent lance tubes just single walled paper tubes to hold tamped down comp?

If so surely you could knock them up in a matter of minutes?

If you cant find them here, then by the time they arrive, you could have rolled a 1000 times the quantity. Sorry mate, it's just me and my tube rolling addiction lol

I did once convince myself that lance tube construction had some subtleties. Given a weak blue organic comp, some papers burn more orange than others and can be a distraction.

There's actually some stuff on portfire tubes 'thin walled yet stiff enough to ram' in Best of AFN III, but I'm sure 30 mins of experimentation would get you there just as quickly.

Creepin, the ones in your picture link are spiral wound. In my experience of using bought lances with spiral tubes, they tend to chimney more. Precocious Pyrotechnics in the USA do spiral wound lances. They may sell you some tubes.

Correct, I'm just being lazy. I don't fancy the prospect of making them in large numbers. These are what I'm looking for.

I've got some but how large is large?

Also the correct weight paper in various colours.

Send a pm.

Precocious Pyrotechnics catalog lists empty lance tubes at $21 a hundred.

Curiously enough, Precocious Pyrotechnics price for finished lances is $35 a gross (144), which is equivalent to $24 a hundred.

MUTR do a 6mm dowel with a slot cut along the length which makes rolling a tube easy from a shet of paper.
