Just got one of these. Arrived today. Seems ideal for small whistles and rockets etc and a great price too.

Says Temporarily out of stock so you must of had the last one :D Was the delivery charge much? They are heavy little things? Are you gonna modify it?

It's been on order for ages. I e-mailed them the other day and they said it wouldn't be here till mid may, then it arrived. I think carriage was £8.00. It is well worth getting one at that price. I will of course add a blast screen but am undecided about any other mods as yet.

That's what we in the US would call a "Harbor Freight" arbor press. They offer two - half ton and one ton. From the shipping weight (12kg) I deduce the Axminster is a half ton. I think the stroke is a bit too short to make rockets - by the time you put the ram in, you only have enough height left for about a 2 inch tube.

It is a one ton press. It makes great endburners. I made 18mm I/D rockets with cases 60mm long. They flew for about 4 secs to around 150 feet.Used milled riced willow BP as propellant and had a 3mm choke. I make my own rams, probably no good for bought rocket tooling. I used to use longer cases but found much was empty space for endburners.

I am sure it will be great for whistles and small fountains too. I don't really have space for a big hydraulic press. Wish I had.
