You could look up people who do Galvanising of steel. They may be able to help.

What are you doing? Smokes or spreader stars?

Spreader stars will be interesting to try but its actually for a fountain mix I have developed that just is missing something that Zinc will give. I have a metal works near me but they just deal in steel, iron and titanium and they mainly make turnings or large spangles than anything.

I you do find it, make sure you buy before the end of the month. Past 30th June Zinc will no longer be shippable in limited quantites, so many suppliers will stop selling it in <25kg weights.
