Hi Jared
According to Rev Lancaster, Dark Pyro Al has a small percentage of carbon in it:
"The so called Dark Pyro Aliminium consists of a very fine flake powder that is produced in varying shades of grey, and although it has a nominal mesh size of about 200 it contains particles as fine as 2u.
It has been said that this powder was made in the past from burned paper-backed foil, or foil that has been sprayed with varnish which is subsequently charred. The writer has not met this practice but the British Metal Powder Co. of Bolton certainly incorporate a small percentage of carbon black in their pyro-powder."
I assume this would give it its colour.
Where are you getting it in Oz? I've had no luck.
Simon
