Hello!
When i etch PCB's with ferric chloride, after the reaction with copper is completed i'm left with a copper chloride solution.
Anyone knows how to extract and purify this copper chloride compound?

Thank you

Well if you add copper unti exhausted the copper chloride should precipitate.
Left for week(s) in a undisturbed glass bottle a brown precipitate forms at the bottom with a dark green solution above.

I presume the green precipitate is the copper chloride solution.

Thank you for your answer :)

Sorry ive just realised the bottle i was looking at had neutralising powder added so brown precipitate was iron carbonate.

However the theory still holds for non neutralised solution , just check that the precipitate is green in colour.

Do not expect much yield however, some improvement can be had by evaporation to reduce water content.
