bloodhound ssc

saw this last week and cant believe no one has posted about it, its old news.
from what i gather it starts with a v8 cosworth f1 lump that is also the fuel pump for the rocket then the eurofighter typhoon jet engine kicks in and finally a 16" dia hybrid, high test peroxide [htp] oxidised, [htpb fueled] rocket motor that produces 27,000lbf of thrust that takes it to 1000mph.
it will be the biggest most powerfull rocket engine to be fired in the uk for twenty years, though the speed test run will likely be in south africa.

surely good publicity for uk rocketry even if it is a world away from pyrotechnics
