This is the sort of thing I would love to get into so was wondering if anyone knew which company it was as my searches haven't come up with anything, the band is called Rammstein they are German so perhaps the company is too, anyone on here work for them?

OK first the band leader for Rammstein IS their pyrotechnician, Second in Germany pyrotechnicians have to be licensed by the state.

In the UK you do not usually drop in as lead pyro for Rammstein unless you have a LOT of knowledge experience and contacts.

Thanks for the reply Arthur. Zebra is now receiving some basic explosives training through my company. Any assistance that can be given through forum readers would be greatly appreciated. She has already been given some industry contacts to follow up.
Here in the Uk there is a serious lack of young people entering any aspect of the explosives industry and we ( including you Arthur!!) who are near the end of our careers must support new entrants like Zebra. Open your contacts books and give her the leads she needs.

I would love to get into the world of Explosives and demolition however i would not have any6 idea how to go about it and also i would hazard a guess you would need to go to uni and get some form of degreee ect of which i would stand no chance as ime not very acedemic. Doing the practical side of things and understanding it ime 100% confident i could do it.

Running my own display company for the first season is enough, for now

Yeh I wasn't thinking of dropping in as lead pyro by a long shot, was hoping to possibly find a contact on here that would enable me to tag along and lugg some boxes around whilst being a fly on the wall type thing

However, as Arthur has pointed out, rock and roll touring is a very pressured environment, and there are no guarantees that there will be time or space to let someone in to observe the process. But, hey. It's always worth asking...

A uni degree is not always the best route into the demolition industry or any industry for that matter, your best line of approach is to find the appropriate trade association, then read up on careers and find the courses/exams and practical training that are relevent to what you want to do, but its also likely you will need a specific CSCS card (construction skills certification scheme), this will give you permission to say enter building sites, but there are other CSCS cards that you will need that cover access to say railways, airports etc.

Ime a fully qualified bricklayer so already have the CSCS card and understand building structures ect.. also obviously site safety ect..,. When i have some spare time i will have a good look into it.

Hi, this is totally irrelevant to this topic but figured I may as well post it on my own thread than start a new topic as its fairly unimportant.-

I went to Southport this weekend to watch the musical fireworks competition, noticed they used a few strobes around the front and thought it would look good with lazers involved, is there a rule against using other lighting effects in these competitions or do people just choose not to as they are showcasing their fireworks?

I have no idea on the actual reasons but I suspect that the answer is within the contests name, lasers are not fireworks and there for may not be allowed but I could be completely wrong.
