I've been interested in becoming a pyrotechnician for quite sometime now, but there doesn't seem to be a generic way of 'getting into fireworks'. Can anyone help with this?
I'm 17, (I believe I've got to be 18, for a start) and I would really like to enter a career in professional firework displays. How did you all do it? or how are you thinking about doing it, for those who are not yet in it?

Either start your own company (Expensive), or get friendly with one or more display companies and be useful (no pay initially is very likely). it's partly a case of it's not what you know but who you know. Theres lots of courses out there which aren't worth pursuing if you don't make contacts and get work (IMHO).
