Ok chaps,

As we know 2012 is going to be a major year for public events in and around the London area (most with some sort of firework display), here are some dates to put in your diary, please feel free to add to or correct any listing, or check the relevant websites for conformation of events/times/dates etc nearer the time ;

If anyone fancies meeting up, then please add any comments or suggestions;

Chinese New Year - Year of the Dragon - Monday 23rd January - around Gerard Street..

St Patricks Day - Saturday 17th March - Trafalgar Sq or thereabouts - not sure about a firework display.

Meltdown Festival - June (dates not released yet) at the South Bank Centre/Queen Elizabeth Hall near waterloo - last year they had 60`s artists, ray davies, monty python, punk etc

Queens Diamond Jubilee Celebrations - Saturday 2nd June to Tuesday 5th June - The River Thames will see the largest flotilla of boats/water craft since King Charles II - this should be on Sunday 3rd June, the firework display has yet to be planned, but logic would suggest this should be on the 5th June (maybe Buckingham Palace again).

Greenwich & Docklands International Festival - 21st June to 30th June - don`t know if theres a firework display!

The Olympic Games Opening & Closing ceremonies - Saturday 27th July and Sunday 12th August.

The Thames Festival - Satuday & Sunday 8th & 9th September - mainly along the south bank from Tower Bridge onwards, firework display on the 9th ( around 9.45pm) between Blackfriars & Waterloo bridges (time yet to be confirmed), with a night carnival along Victoria Embankment earlier?.

The Lord Mayors Show - Saturday 10th November - fireworks around 5.00pm (time yet to be confirmed) at Embankment.

The Lord Mayors Firework Display at the Olympic Park Stratford - New Years Eve.
