Over the past few weeks, the UKPS staff have been discussing various options in the conference call that we would like to see happen in the next year.

This is your chance to vote on what you would like, and perhaps suggest other ideas we haven't already thought of.

Also, we are planning to attend the firework championship event at Eastnor Castle, so volunteers to help recruit members at this event will be much appreciated!

The HE SFX course as led by Pyromancer last time in Kent could well have a Yorkshire version with the aid of Exat808 if he is willing and there are enough takers.

The ASP course (often led by Lincoln of Just FX) would be interesting Several forum members have done this and both enjoyed the day and learned a lot from it.

Tom Smith's presentation of the Kosanke's Colour in Pyro course may be interesting but expensive (I think it's a four day course)

Would Prof Akhavan be willing to give us a lecture titled "colour in the radical environment" at the next AGM

Can the Society host another run of the Illuminate consult course, Maybe the full course over two days. Preferably before october (each year)! Even split the course Fusing and firing on one day and theory on another weekend.

Most forms of pyromusical demand an expensive and extensive firing control system, so unless Matt (MLE) is likely to bring lots of toys to play with then we are rather hampered by lack of kit.

I should be able to make Eastnor Castle and help out with some promotional work for the UKPS

As a society I believe one of our first priorities is to expand our net wider to try and gain more publicity for the UKPS (get noticed & recruit more members) in general by having a presence at more public events that say have a historic theme. In my opinion we need to put on one ot two firework displays a year at these events through a collaboration of say two display companies who are members of our society.
We need to charge event organisers for our services - all expenses (fireworks mainly) need to be covered for our volunteer display companies - any surplus profits go to the UKPS for the general running of society and for any projects/courses/equipment or reinvestment etc.
For example, Rochester in Kent has a few historic events like the annual or bi-annual `Dickens Festival` or the `Sweeps Festival` which attract many tens of thousand of people, these events don`t have a firework display (opportunity for us to contact the council event manager), but they do offer the possibility for us to erect a marquee to tell people about us and perhaps also offer some lectures/demonstations as a attraction in itself.

I would like to see a HE course again but maybe a more releasable cost per person. im sure with all the connections the ukps have we can find someone with access to HE without costing as much as last year

i agree with crystal palace maybe getting involved with some high profile displays to get the ukps name out might be a good idea.

Happy to provide an HE course (up in t'North) - I have access to a number of venues but would rely upon UKPS to do the admin type things.

I would certainly like to do the HE special effect day again as it was great fun, also i could be interested in the stage fx course as it could be handie for future work.

I also have a smarthawk system and a fair bit of kit now,so if there was enough interest this end of the country, could put on a cat 4 day,the venue should not be a problem as i am friendly with a few farmers.
