Why don't we set up a fund for donations as we did in 2011 to be able to put on a bigger show.

As usual, the show will be done by members, with the proviso that we don't want people out of the AGM when events are happening if this can possibly be avoided.

Paul (Pyromaniac303) will be in charge.

The current plan is to do a mini pyromusical. Paul will be doing a talk about this and then a practical so to speak!

We've managed to get the AGM in before the clocks go forward, so the order should be: Meeting - set up display - fire display - clear display - pub/meal. This avoids having to 'guard' the firing site as we did last year.

Certainly donations will be very welcome, as will prizes for a raffle...

Paul - could you fill in a bit more detail please?

Subject to finding some digs close by for the Saturday night I'm coming. YEAH. I'm sure it will be worth every one of the 210 miles in my battered little astra.

Any info on close digs greatly appreciated.

I will post some details of where to stay and prices etc.

Hi Phil, details are a bit fuzzy at the moment, but we plan on bringing the FireOne system and a few rails down, doing a talk about show design using the software, then allowing everyone to help set up and fire a quick pyromusical.

As the singe shot sequences that FireOne works so well for are inherently complicated and fiddly to set up, and we have limited time, I think we'll pre-rig a few single shots onto frames earlier that day before people arrive, and let members set up the larger stuff such as shells/cakes/dragon bundles to save on time and confusion. If people want to bring shells (Cat4 only I'm afraid, unfortunately I think the insurance will be void if we include homebrew) then they may do so to be included in a big sky-puke finale!

I'll give you another update in a few weeks to confirm everything.

Looks a nice venue Phil, should we not post links to other local pages/sites to announce our event in the area? or contact the town cryer or or perhaps just announce the firework display details for the local public to attend? = good opportunity for some publicity!

Also, it might prevent the locals from complaining like last year !!

Why don't you bring some of your new favourites Karl - industrial onion bombs !!

Cheers,

Phil.

We're trying to arrange that a local charity has a disco on the same night, so some extra people can have the benefit of the display.

Vince can pretty much see the sports field from his house & knows of several displays that have been held there, so hopefully the locals will be on our side!

I was going to contact our local paper and see if they would like to run a feature on the UKPS and publicise the display etc.

I will advise neighbours etc about the display, but as you can emagine living near me they quite used to fireworks and look forward to our impromtu displays so they will be looking forward to it.

When we have a bit more info of the day and the likely time of the display i will start doing so networking to get the word out  :D
