There is a shop that used to sell cardboard backed indoor firework display cards, containing about twenty mini fireworks. These included the classic Pharoes serpents, and other smoke and fountain compositions. They've stopped selling these now, and the only similair product I can find is a "fun house" pack, although I haven't seen these available in England.

Just look under "novelties" at Skylighter, then try and find these items in England....

Any ideas why these have dissapeared, or am I just not looking hard enough?

Hi Creepin Pyro, They sell the Fun House packs for ?4.95 + P&P on The Firework Emporium web-site. I don't know what they are like as I haven't bought any. :-)

This lot claim to sell indoor fireworks although they have no pictures or prices. I know nothing about this company BTW. The last indoor fireworks that I saw for sale were made by Tom Smith's the Christmas cracker manufacturers. I believe that they are no longer trading although I can't be 100% sure on this point.

The fun house indoor fireworks are nothing like the old Tom Smith ones which were actually quite good.
The fun house pack consists of 3 smoke items and some sparklers plus a tiny table charge. As for the indoor bit they smell to high heaven and are so lame that a local retailer sold off his stock at ?1 each to get rid !!

Might be entertaining for kiddies though as you get a story book in the pack and are meant to read it as you let off the assorted smokey things. I think "indoor" is a bit iffy though as you would smell out the house for some time.

Just recieved a Tom Smith chinese indoor fireworks pack, from Ebay. Seems quite old and faded (1960s?). The bits are mostly intact, and it's so tempting to rip it apart and set fire to the contents. :P .....must........resist....

I heard Tom Smith invented the English grasshopper, amongst other things.... Anyone know more about the man?

Tom Smith was a chemist at Brock's fireworks and he had the bright idea of placing a bang inside the already existing christmas cracker. Tom Smith left Brock's and began maufacturing Silver Fulminate cracker snaps. and made an awful lot of money by all accounts.

Further to my post above is this site although I believe that it does contain some inaccuracies and ommisions. Tom Smith's time at Brocks is not mentioned here, But is mentioned briefly by Brock in his book.

One interesting point is that Tom Smith opened his premeises in Clerkenwell, London, which I believe is where some of the Brock family lived at the time.
