In my line of work, fire spinning, we use titanium alloy (with aluminum and vanadium) on a kevlar wick fueled with Coleman camp fuel to add a sparkling effect to the flame. We have recently had inquiries regarding the safety of inhalation of titanium alloy fumes. While I realize that toxic fumes may be produced, does anyone have any input about the level of danger created by burning approximately .3 oz of titanium alloy over a 5 minute period in a ventilated area? Thanks!

So it would depend on how open the area is and burn rate

Burn rate is approximately .06 oz a minute.

And it is usually outdoors so a very open area.

V2o5 is considered a poison but TiOxide is the whitener in lots of foods and medicines, inc toothpaste so apart from lung irritation TiO2 is food grade -well without the coleman fluid
Keep mannequins and watermelons away from fireworks..they always get hurt..
