Been away for a while exploring various other FX and trying to get my new Tesla coil up and running.

I discovered a whole world of people working whith huge and horribly high voltages to make giant sparks, flying saucers and all sorts of things.

I reckon if you guys ever want a night off looking at pyro on the web take a look at this site....

http://www.powerlabs.org/

Follow the link to tesla ring and you will find loads more sites.

Can I post a picture here? Just got a few stills off a video we made of some fire sculptures which is too big to post anywhere.

I'd be careful of that site. Sam is not only an ego maniac, he doesn't seem to do the math before trying something, or writting it up for others to kill themselves with.

I agree his ego is bigger than the planet but i didn't realise his science was dodgey.

You know how to do the maths on HT induction circuits?

I appreciate that this is well off Pyro...but it does get pretty hot

Yeah what a goon.

I find it disturbing when I say I am modest it sounds unmodest! Catch 22!

Hey, have you guys got past his first page and looked at some of the stuff he has built? Apart from his glib way of talking, what I see is that he has taken care over what he does and put some craftsmanship into what he has built. Maybe I am thick but I learned a lot from his site.

And no I havent got my coil fired up yet. Finding a power supply is proving near impossible. I also want to get to know the world of ultra high voltage applications a bit better as it is clear that there is a lot of fun to be had here if you don't kill yourself first. (bit like pyro).

Yes, I repect and understand that people need to have pride in their work. But some people go about it the wrong way and I sure don't like that.
