Hello All,

My name is Rob and I have just sent my application to join the society.

I joined the forum in 2012 and did not do much after that. Not a lover of forums really, I prefer to speak in person.

My background is more of an amateur chemist rather than pyrotechnics but it would appear that the two now are intrinsically linked in law.

I have been handling chemicals and high voltagages since the age of eight and am seeking to engage with folk in the Somerset area with like interests.

I have a fairly comprehensive lab set up mostly for chemistry, physics and biology. With due consideration for my neighbours I have some scope for practical pyrotechnics on a small scale.

Look forward to some forum chat and meeting folk in person.

Welcome to the society and forum Rob, as membership secretary I will be processing your application and have sent you a email regarding a query. I can see from your application that you have experience in a number of fields and would make a valued member for the society and forum.

Hi Rob
Yes welcome!
I'm also an amateur chemist with my own lab with an interest in pyrotechnics.
I live just up the road from you in Bristol!
Lets hope the AGM for the society is soon.
Thanks
Matt

Thanks Matt,

I am looking forward to the future and lots of fun experiments.

I am also looking to generate interest and enthusiasm for science generally.

I am from south Gloucestershire not far from you both and a few other members of the society, if there is interest in meeting up for a general chat in our area of the country I am quite happy to come along.

Vic, that is an excellent idea.

I reckon that would be really good for us all.

I am off to North Wales shortly for a brief excursion but reckon we could look to meet sometime in the next few weeks?

I am picking up supplies on the way back in view of having an exciting Autumn / winter season of experimentation. So much to discover!

Matt, how about a joint Tesla coil project? My high voltage kit is getting dusty!! It's the primary curcuit that scares me you know!

Speak to you all again soon.
