Hello

I know some here use this item.  I've had one for some times as it was always something I wanted.  It stopped working a while back and I put that down to the batteries not charging (I know there is a thread about this, I really must get around to rebuilding one)  I dug out the unit the other day and noticed some "furring" on the terminals.  I have cleaned the terminals on the unit and the battery with contact cleaner, but my real problem is the connection pins.  This is where you good people come in.  Can some please chech a working unit and confirm the the pins 2-4-2 are all pround of the housing? My unit only has the bank of 4 proud the banks of 2 are flat and I can't tease them out to sit in line, which is why I think I have poor connection.

Has anyone ever taken an exploder to pieces?  Thisn I can see how but don't want to break anything.  All help, comments (And picture you can supply) will be most welcome.  Thank you in advance.

That practice grenade (simulator) has been known for years to have a poorly designed connector. Perhaps using a silicone based antioxidant contact cleaner would help with your connections and remove corrosion without abrasive degradation of the pins. Apply some to the top threaded hole where the inert weight adding powder is poured in, will keep these threads from 'fuzzing up', too. They used cheap metal for these simulator grenades, and it oxidizes easily if unprotected.
