Ain't YOUTUBE a wondeful place.  They buy the chemicals, dyes and fuse then make ther own.  Can you do this in the UK or can you buy pre-mixed compsition?

Smokes are so easy to make, several people sell the chems and dyes, then you fire one and spread mess for miles, they stain everything the smoke touches. Black smoke is harder to do well.

The smoke dyes are filthy to work with even when you take a lot of care in handling them, they stain your hands for days .

A 50/50 mix of sugar and Pot Nitrate will make a passable grey white smoke. It's not the best and it's relatively cheap but should be used quickly as it will suck the moisture from the atmosphere like a sponge.
