What to use for a booster?

Hey, I was just wondering how to make booster explsoives without using perchlorates or chlorates. Where I live I have access to only a few chemical oxidisers such as KNO3 and ammonium nitrate. I was wondering if you could construct a booster out of something say like black powder in a cardboard tube to set of some ANFO? I've tryed filling a match box up with black powder for a detonantor, but with no surprize it didn't set of the ANFO. Any help?

Listen to me man. If you are still browsing this thread evilgecko explosives is not that safe nor fun. I got into it first and luckily did not try to synthesize anything. You cannot get it legalized for a hobby not close to as easily as fireworks which can be rewarding, colorful, loud, and challenging. I dont know your purpose to make them but this is not the place. I have made the conversion and like it a lot more. It is cheaper, safer, and you dont just blow things up all the time.
Just think it over man. Hope you make the right choice if you are out there reading this.

The coppers are doing a course at the moment on all explosives containing ammonium nitrate and trust me from numerous demonstrations and pictures you do NOT want to play with these. you WILL end up in hospital of you play with these so please think twice before doing anything like this BAD IDEA
