AFAIK the Society Company Limited still exists and has funds but no functional membership to keep the funds in the black and the basic admin chores done.

I have a UK interest but go to the USA to do things that are lawful there but not here.

There is no reason why the Society shouldn't attract members BUT there needs to be a good number of people who want to be in a revival for the long term knowing that the UK system is not friendly and actually doing manufacture is best done in an overseas place where their laws permit.

IF there are at least twenty people interested in running the society, fulfilling the official roles as Chair, Secretary etc, and willing to do live pyro in the USA then the society has a future.

One of the tasks the Society once had was to research the hundreds of historic old fireworks companies that once supplied the UK retail market. There was information posted to the forum once which will vanish if the forum goes. Restarting this project and finding a public library willing to hold the product (book!) would be a very interesting project.

Somewhere in Europe there is a project to make a 600amp electrolysis cell to make chlorate, and it's actually so easy that it's scary. The concept of permitting people to acquire perc is so infinitely preferable to effectively forcing people to make and rely on chlorate with all it's long forgotten difficulties and incompatiblilties.

Hopefully no-one is tinkering with some very small use permitting system while parliament attempts to negotiate Brexit. After that who knows.

Business class isn't worth the money -same plane same seats same cold tea, just a curtain to justify £1000 on top of an economy ticket. But yes some parts of the USA are very pyro friendly -but take care for the places that are totally pyrophobic. It's as odd as state and county lines and even Indian reservations.

ONE person who thinks I know them can ask for an invitation to a USA make week. ANYONE can join PGI and go there for the week and chat/beer/make all they want.

The European Parliament decided to restrict access to explosives precursors and poisons -leading to every OTHER country in the EU banning these items from the retail market. Because of the UKPS, the UK government enacted the EPP licence, permitting UK pyrotechnists the ingredients they need even if by a hard to work paper permit system.

Interesting that they want to replace active chemicals with zeolite an inert rock with suspicions of being like asbestos and  associated with a high incidence of malignant mesothelioma, a life-threatening disease also associated with inhalation of asbestos particles.

I think there are three invitations available for the 2019 event. The ONLY reason why the Americans have this and we Brits don't is that they organise it and we don't.

The shell in the vid was my first shell! A 16" shell of shells! My two 12s this year were less good -they worked but the effects were not so well defined.

There is a meet in NV in February too. Manufacturing supplies are available for use on site. It's perfectly possible to travel inert and still have a great time.
