Hobby mad, and able to stay a kid myself seeing as I have none that I know of.

Love things that are going against the general populus grain, the more wayout the better.

Been firework mad since I was 12 and back then you could buy them yourself at that age. Now rather interested in the actual composition, as well as the theories behind everything related.

Bit of a horder and now have an 18ft shed at the bottom of the garden which is rapidly filling up.

Must admit I am for the full polycarbonate screen, as I have a new toy in the guise of a high speed camera (300fps), but I have noticed you have to be very close to the action to get anything of quality.

so the shield need to be able to protect me, and be be clear so I can use it with a camera on tripod behind it.

so how good would a polycarbonate one be? and how expensive, i'd like to be in the position that paying less doesn't then limit the use of my apendages and eyes etc if something does go wrong..... Mortar proof, bullet proof :-) ?

anyway, it's be easy with a better quality camera, but the cost exponentially goes mad for HS cameras as soon as you want something vaguely tv quality.

    Hi all,

Been a while but with the news of the guy being jailed for such a minor thing has really scared me somewhat.

Like most of you I have a selection of chemicals, implements and devices for making fireworks, and most people in my neighbourhood know that I have this as a hobby.

With this being splashed over the news tonight I felt like running into the house under a blanket as all you need is someone being malicious and that's it......

What are the options, as on one report it even said he had no malicious intentions and it didn't look like a really built up area.... This is really bad news.

I'm very keen on your honest opinions as I would imagine a lot of us would. This isn't a knee jerk reaction as this is a real....

OK you convinced me...... damn, teach me for being cocky in front of the shop owner.

I must admit when I was a kid I very nearly got myself and my friends eardrum blown out by removing the ignition powder from about 50 blank .22 rounds (not telling how we did it as there may be other people reading thinking it is a good idea.... WELL...ITS NOT) and setting it off inside a shed.....

Lets just say that I got banned from my friends house for a couple of weeks (because it was my idea) and we but had problems hearing for a few days.

I agree with BARRA69 though, the reloading legislation is mad, anyone can going and buy a couple of kilos of reloading powder, whereas it's a deflagaration composition but you really could do some damage if you started playing......

In that case can someone move this post to the member section.

A am really quite interested in the composition, if it is too dangerous then I won't attempt it, but I'd still like to know
