I had a great afternoon too, it wasn't a huge turnout but those that attended were just the right people and it was a real pleasure. I feel UKPS has turned a corner and the discussion about where we as a community are going to start heading was extremely productive.

Steve - the award for best explosives infovideo goes to you and Billy Bass - 10/10!!

Glad you all enjoyed the display - the triple peanuts were nice!

Here's to the future :)

PVA glue is an excelent waterproofer as thats its intended use in the building trade, ts not a LONG term barrier but for a night of rain its fine.

Free must be cheaper than buying anything chief?

Not when safety is an issue.

Not a great deal but I have sent with Dan a few bits and bobs, couple of meters of chinese time fuse, about 20m of Lidu Black match, big bundle of thin match, bundle of visco, lengths of 5mm red visco (1m lengths) and a shed load of QM tails.

#78863 Where to buy e-match in quantity?

Give Chris @ Celtic fireworks a shout, he is selling VERY high quality Privatex ignitors 5m @ 58p / unit. You will struggle to beat that :)

I use a very fast medium grade (2FA ish) BP, put the weighed charge into a ziplock bag (choose a size that your weighed charge roughly half fills) zip it up with an ignitor then insert into a second bag. I then use fibreglass tape and wrap tightly a double layer. Then add a further two layers of electrical tape.

Place in the bottom of a mortar (GRP has never failed on me with these but card tubes are best)

Drop a doubled up freezer bag into the mouth of the tube securing the top of the bag over all the way around the lip, fill with fuel to about an inch below the top. Seal with gaffa then with foil (to fireproof it).

Us abou 1l for 100mm and increase by a litre for every inch!

its amazing feel the awe and excitment from a single big shell rather than 100 small ones.

Which was a response to my previous post...........

So the way I read it, telling me is exactly what you were doing.

Enough of commercial tat
