The problem with keten's Ti is that its not the sponge type. Its just powdered Ti metal, which isnt as good. Also if my calculations are correct, it works out to £130kg...(if you buy a 25kg tub), which is a tad over the top!!!! :o

Hi,
Yeah, my mistake, about £150 kg. OUCH! Having said that, there is pretty much no where else that sells it...
However, there is this place: http://www.activemet...k/titanium.html .It looks excellent but I've got no e-mail responses or human response over the phone. Anyone any experience with them?

Regards,

Mike

Ive had experience with them - all bad! They dont reply to emails, dont return calls and generally fob you off, which is a shame, cos their Ti is very good quality.

I filled in their request form over a week ago, and also tried emailing them. If they don't reply I will go and see them, only about a 20 minute drive away...

They wont reply...trust me! Ive been trying for ages, not even a refusal, just nothing. Its sooooo rude. I'd be happier if they told me to pee-off! Your trip will be a waste of time to, but as youre only 20mins away, its probably worth a go. Good luck :)

Thid guy on ebay sells Ferro-Titaniun http://stores.ebay.c...etals-Chemicals

Here's the approximate particle size distribution of the ebay Fe-Ti in case anyone is interested:

Looks like the coarsest fraction will be of limited use, but ~70% of it is finer than 20-mesh and should probably work OK in comets and fountains.
