While I was in China last year I saw some amusing examples. Such as a leaflet in the hotel room listing the prices of various items in the room incase guests broke them and had to pay for them. The mis-translation seemed to indicate that we could buy them (as if we liked them) rather than have to replace them. I'll take the light fitings please. A bargain at 200 RMB !!

It was funny at the time. Honest. I have a photo somewhere.

Here it is:

I note that it say's "any damage or loss"..
would have liked to have seen Adam trying to explain how he lost items such as the bed, television, cabinate, mahjong table and chairs etc etc..

After a recent display, one of the crew noticed an attached label on the side of a cake... "Free Drug Samples".. although funny at the time this could have lead to issues when the container carrying these arrived in the country.. can you imagine all your stock impounded prior to the November season.
Another label was on what should have been a Kamuro shell.. the label infact said "K-Mart shell"... no guessing who had been winding the Chinese manufacturers up in this case.

A couple of other labels ...
on a set of kitchen knives - Warning, keep out of children
on a Tesco carving knife - warning, may be sharp (cant see the point if it wasnt)
on ciggarette lighters - warning, may contain flamable gass.... duh!
on the bottom of a food processor - warning, do not turn upside down... bit late for that one
on a 2 - 3 year old childs medication - warning, do not drive or attempt to opperate haevy machinery afterr use.... mind you they do start joy riding at young ages now days.
Seen on a fireworks fountain - warning, emitts shower of sparks.. isnt that what a fountain is suposed to do ?

Many years ago... I used to be an Engrish teacher to Russian kids.
We were doing a lesson about ESP and the power of the human brain.
Well one girl claimed to be an animal psychic. And I quote...

"If I want to see my cat all I have to do is think 'pussy come to me'..."

Which I promptly replied, ?I often think that as well.?

They didn?t quite understand?
