Hey guys, just reading back and then looking on www.lpchemicals.co.uk. It's alot different from how I remember it, the little bar with the £50 minium order seems to have disappeared..I was wondering if anyone knew whether they scrapped the £50 min. order?

Also, I'm quite rusty on remembering these things. I forget the main differences between Potassium Chlorate and Potassium Perchlorate, IIRC..Potassium Perchlorate is more stable than Potassium Chlorate (can't for the life of me remember chemical formulas).

Now I remember to never mix either of the two Potassium salts with Sulphur. But I can't remember if mixing Potassium Chlorate with Magnesium was a good idea or whether it would corrode rapidly or become very sensitive.

What can I say ....

500g of Salt for only £12.35, that's just a mere £24.70 per kilo from the Chemical Closet.

Really brilliant if your driveway ices up !

WHAT a BARGAIN !

I almost couldn't get my credit card out quickly enough.

Plus a whole load of drug manufacturing stuff.

Even if it turned up I'd doubt you'd be waiting too long for your visit from the Police etc !

-=B=- :blush:

KClO3 Potassium Chlorate
KClO4 Potassium Perchlorate

Don't mix either with Sulphur or red P for that matter. Stupidly sensetive and explosive.

Most mixes of a violent oxidiser and metal powder are reffered to as 'Flash powders' don't touch that sort of stuff for a while, though information can be found elsewhere on this forum.

LP never really had a £50 order if you order over the phone anyway to be honest....

Thankyou for your fast reply.

I'm already very familiar with flash powders, I used to do pyrotechnics all of the time. I stopped for a while because the suppliers were crap.

Yellow PIC? If it's genuine ICI then it's a lie they stopped producing it a while back didn't they?

And M40 8BB is Sawley Road, which appears to accomodate a Business Park of sorts. The sciencemadness discussion on this reveals the name and telephone number of the actual owner. I suggest you all avoid this like the plague - from what I hear there are some very nasty chems on there, some of which are chiefly used in drug manufacture. I haven't even visited the site and I won't even click on it to have a look. Not worth the risk or the potential grief.

They haven't made it for a while but there is still some around, it's just getting scarcer and those with it are charging a premium (the dearest I have seen is Deepsky at £7.99 for 200mm :blink: )

Perchlorate-->Inoxia I would assume www.inoxia.co.uk
SrCO3 -->in every pottery supply

perc is Xn (harmful), but not really dangerous unless you plan to eat the stuff
