:) I lit a Bulldog Rainbow Wheel (Cat3,25m 99p) on Saturday night and it span for the first few seconds then exploded with a loud bang and the tube fell onto the ground burning. Has anyone else had this with pinwheels? I suppose this was just an isolated one-off that slipped through quality control and British Standards testing unnoticed. <_<

Since fireworks like these are hand made in vast quantities, there will always be the odd one or two that have developed cracks or voids in the composition, which leads to these explosions. I've had one go on me a few years back and it was much louder than any banger!

Yeah I also had this when Black Cat Fireworks were first sold here, the Wonder Wheel(Cat2,5m) in their Cat theme selection boxes sometimes exploded with a bang after lighting, I reported this to BC and they said thank you for telling us and since then they improved the quality of this particular wheel in their boxes, and they never exploded since. :) :) :)
