Well Im building a website for Taylor-Made-Events and in return I get to chose ?350 worth of their stock and only pay ?150. So in fact im getting ?200 worth of the good stuff for free :) This is the first display im going to fire, ive already got the butterflys!

Ive ordered a pack of 4x 3" & 4" Mortar Mines, I carn't wait to light these babies :D Any advice before I fire them? On my list I also have about 20 cakes, Cat2 & Cat3 rockets, wheels, fountains and candles. I picked up 6 packs of TNT Starburst rockets and a pack of Bright Star mines.

Yup, I've got my stash, a christmas eve display for family and friends coming up so I got 1 x TNT Big Boom! selection box, 2 x 2 TNT Powder Kegs, 3 x 5pk TNT Starburst rockets, 2 x Devco Rainbow selection box and several small cakes.

I can't wait, this will be my first time firing a whole display too.

Yes Karl, the mortar mines DO require GOOD PPE;a helmet with eardefenders and clearvisor for ?40 is good protection.

Thanks Anthony. Do you know what fuse's come on Mortar-Mines? It looks like quickmatch to me.
I have ear defenders (These came from a precision metal works factory, and I carn't hear NOTHING when I wear them), hard-hat and goggles. I think ill be lighting them with my portfire taped to a barge-pole

Ohh and not to mention gloves :)

I think with mortar mines it is normal consumer fireworks green fuse followed by quickmatch.

I have seen plastic ignitor cord being used on some, leading on to the quickmatch.

Well I'll let you know what fuse it comes with when I get them. Is it wise wiring the origional fuse up to something with a longer delay? Or firing them electricaly?

Sizzle, is that a selection box?

Karl a BEAUTIFUL set of fireworks there! Watch out for those mines tho, maybe only 3seconds long but my god watch out, theyre powerful!
Personally I dont like those devils fingers for what you pay i would much prefer a cake.

Isn't it just :D I only wanted the devils ring, to open up my display. For the middle of my display im gonna' use quite a few of different Royal Party cakes to really liven the show up. How do I setup the Mortar Mines? Is staking them out suffice?
For the Finale I've got,

2x Space Odyssey rockets (The biggest gold ones)
2x Space Attack (Double Break rockets)
2x Space Searcher rockets (2" ballheads)
2x Space Traveler rockets (3" ballheads)
4x 3" Mortar Mines
4x 4" Mortar Mines

My Fan Dancer cake
A load of 4" ballheads
Brightstar Satanic Desecration

Do the red caps come off before I fire them? I was thinking about making a rack for them, but then the caps would overlap each other.

Cheers,

You are not suppose to take them off- They blow off as the mine go - but it they are not glued to the fuse, can't see why you can't take them off.
