One 2" mine that I made ( I unfortunately weighed not the stars/1" small flowers nor the lift) was very loud. It sounded like the mortar had busted, which it had, thought the stars and the three 1" smal flowers went VERY high. I have kept the busted mortar as a trophy.

Edit: Why wont the smileys work for me!

The monkey leaped off it's sunny perch and flew off into the night sky.

Hmm.. i had an idea/question.. could i add some stars to my lift-bag, to achieve a shell/starmine, or would it adversely affect the shell?

For my maltese shells I add the stars to the top part of the lifting shell. For ball shells I add the stars to the top ot the shell in the mortar. If you add them in the lift bag and they are loose they may stay in the tube instead of coming out the top. I also add whistles and other effects.
