Dont mess w/ dismantling 1.4 stuff as stated above you dont know what it is!Also what might get mixed together as you take it apart either. bad idea
Buy a book on how to understand/make fireworks,Ask lots of questions,and when you feel you understand what to expect even if something goes hay wire, .then experiment on a small scale " like richard said ".
I dont think many have any idea what a small pile of cia bp going up at once in a coffe pot is like,
hence the importance of working in a safe area w/ proper extinguiser,proper Cotton clothing,breathing aparatus,eye protection/face shield,etc.. Yeah reading someones website for instructions might work,but is it smart to start that way? I made bp" cia type"after spending hours and hours understanding what chemical process was going on ,how dangerous the various chems are and what ones not to mix,how to handle and store them etc..
I think every new member likes to jump right in the action "I know I did" however Once I saw and heard of some injuries and a fire related to fireworks I quickly figured you really want to understand this stuff before you mess with it!
I know seeing your first bp work is how alot start and alot probally think back to first time events that were so ignorant to the hazards, that most dont even like to accmitt it!, But they will acmitt they would never do that today!, ecspecially after becoming knowledgeable w/ pyrotechnics basics
The other thing that alot dont think about is how important it is for us all to practice and prech Safety,good etics,Etc..because its not going to get any easier to promote the hobby of pyrotechnics in the future for many reasons we need to ALL strive to help keep a perfect track record for our image!
That way we can all hopefully continue to practice,teach,enjoy,& share our great ARTs and Crafts for many
moons to come.
