This article has the details of a guy / darwinawardcandidate who has strapped a 200lb rocket motor [throttleable no less!] to his push bike. Apparantly it does 0-60mph in 5 secs - Enough to beat a Porsche in a drag race

He has plans to step this up to 2000lb motor strapped to a truck.

Don't try this at home folks!

He he, nice one Regi. I want one, i have a KJ66 gas turbine at home waiting for a copressor, i think sticking it to a bike would be interesting although i dont like the thought of my bum being inches away from a modded turbocharger compressor spinning at 120,000 rpm!!!! :D

Roofing tar fuel in that engine, hmmm!

Wow, that's pretty cool. I'm a bit worried about his next project: a 2,000lb rocket attatched to a flat-bed truck.

going 60 on a bike just scares me, when i'm cyling i can make 40 on a good slope, and that's pretty fast.

if he was lower, and more aerodynamic i'm sure he could push it to 70.

YESSSS, that's fantastic, I need to see the truck experiment.

Always fantasised about having rockets on the bikes, along the lines of:-
"As the car cut him up, he calmly waited for the gap to widen, a gloved finger firmly pressing the red button and waiting for the jolt as the rocket broke free - WHAM"

I once designed an joke afterburner unit for a Honda 125!
