I have spoken to the mods and I have been granted permission to propose a challenge to all those shell makers. I am proposing a challenge to see who can make the nicest or coolest effects possible in the smallest shell possible. It can be most colors, most effects, whatever you like. Just post a video of it and how it was made, please also poust a pic of the completed shell next to a ruller to verify its size. Let the games begin! :D

A 1-2/3" ID round D1 shell. (The same shell as my avatar)

Don't have any pics compared with a ruler (you'd just have to trust me there) or pictures while making but I've got some for a similar shell:

Very nicely done. I will be able to come up with some cool stuff now that I have mastered Bp. Here is my smallest shell. The Crapiest sounding one looked the best ironically.
Crappy sounding ok looking 1" Ball shell with some Mg, red, green and a hint of purple:

Like I said I know it can be better, but I can only shoot of 2 or 3 per day to not bother my neighbors too much.

Here is the larger one:

Should we make it 2" and under, or just everything up to but not including 2"?

Go ahead and post it isnt that big anyways. i would just make a smaller one like I did. Just rolled some office paper with white glue around a dowel for the mortar.

Best shell so far. Its the larger one above. i put flash inside a drinking straw with some mg, then I arranged BP and flying fish around that flash core, gave me a nice white break as it also had some BP and MG stars, not enough stars though. http://s104.photobuc...rFlashBreak.flv

Thanks, the torch llighter is a must. I do have a tripod which I tried to use but the head doesnt swivel fast enough to follow the shells. However my dad does have a professional video camera he uses for work. I might try that and convert to quicktime using Final Cut. Today i am working on a dual breaker. Its my larger shell filled with a flash core, mg stars. Then the smaller shell on top with green stars and a Bp and Flash core.

Newest baby shell is one of my 2" long canister shells with a Bp burst and 4 mini flash salute inserts with mg. It took a while to make with my fat fingers but Im happy.

Caramanos, please take no offence at this, but what are the flash salute casings made from? They look like crimped copper pipe...
Otherwise some really nice shells here!

Mike

God no lol. No copper rain for me. Its drinking straw sealed with hot melt glue all around and wrapped in a few layers of foil tape to protect it from the Bp blast.
