Orpiment was traditionally used in white stars, being more easy to ignite and cheaper than antimony compounds.

I know of a company in the US who bought a drum of Paris Green to test. In summary, it doesn't work as well as the modern comps using Ammonium Perc, copper salts and the various chlorine donors. They are now stuck with the stuff and don't want to use it and can't sell it on for risk of liability from the sheer toxicity.

There are some chems I certainly don't want in my inventory, and Paris Green is one of them :)

My feelings about Paris green are much the same. I wouldn't mind trying some of the realgar containing glitter mixes though, if only once! The effects sound quite unique, however the price of the material is probably a greater discouragement than it's toxicity

Red arsenic, realgar, whatever you want to call it is definatly not As2S4. It's generally called As2S2, though more properly designated As4S4. As2S4 would make arsenic +4 oxidation state, which is quite unstable and far too rare for a naturally occuring mineral. +2. +3, and +5 are the common ones, and the ones you'll almost always find outside of a laboratory setting.

I must admit that although I have Arsenic here as both the elemental and the compound As4O10, I wouldn`t dream of using it in Pyro anymore, I Had planned on Synthing some paris green, but TOTALLY changed my mind as a result of todays day and age (complete with Paranoia).

I all for the Copper Benz and AMPerc though, it`s a fantastic color, but better seen from a distance to fully appreciate it.
it`s too Blinding up close on a lab bench (all I dare do now).
