Just back from meeting icarus. He's been unwell and out of circulation for a few days, BUT all is on for saturday! Full details are in the opening post in this thread. He's expecting people from early afternoon, so there will be time for on-site fusing in the daylight, and plenty of time to chat.

There will be a spectator area and there is room for a 25, 50, and 100metre firing site. I'll bring one 100m wire and firing system. others may have other systems.

I plan to stay over afterwards at the charnwood arms in Coalville, anyone wishing to do similar will be welcome. _Could end up talking the night away there.

Unfortuantly, I won't be able to attent this one- I was unsure if I would be able to make this for some time, and as such I didn't commit by saying how much stuff I would be bringing.

Good luck- let me know how it goes.

some people are quite rightly concerned re safety please note

we have. 25 metre and 50/100m exclusion zones roped off.
fireworks will be fired from behind a sandbag barrier on far side of appropriate exclusion zone
the bonfire is other side of 5ft cattle fence and gate you may proceed through gate and enjoy bonfire and barbecue at all times
see you all on saturday

Thanks to Icarus and his wife for organising last nights event. I apologise to everyone for deserting you so early but myself and my girlfriend we absolutely soaked through to our underwear! I had to bribe her to come in the first place with the promise of a night in a hotel and a meal out. However she did enjoy it much more than she thought. But as the rain came in just before food time we got so soaked and went to the hotel to get changed. We had intended to stay longer and so many of you we didn't get to say hello to. Hopefully we'll get to meet everyone again in the near future in dryer conditions.

If anyone has any video clips I'd love to see. We took a little but I didn't think the camera would like having a bath so not got as much as we'd like to.

Thanks again for an enjoyable night Steve.

Great to see so many friendly faces last night. Many thanks to Icarus for organising everything.

As an event, there's much to be said for fireworks, food, and campfire pyro tales shared late into the evening B)
