An announcement from the treasurer, Gal-on Broner:
We are pleased to invite members and non-members to our yearly AGM, which will take place this year in the village of Markyate in Hertfordshire. The meeting is a great opportunity for people to come, hear and see what the society was doing over the past 12 months and its plans for the next year. Also, this year is an election year – and all positions will be filled at the AGM.
While those who are not members, are not allowed to vote – they can still make suggestions and see what opportunities exist to help the society out. And there are plenty. Needing more volunteers is a must to meet the targets set for next year.
We have arranged a number of pickup points from the midlands and from train stations around Markyate – so there is no excuse not to come along!
Drinks and sandwiches will be served throughout the event. Some good country pubs are in the area and we will give those a try after the AGM.

We apologise that the AGM has been delayed until April – but we feel that it better to hold the AGM after the holiday period where travel is quicker and cheaper.
Travel Directions:
From the M1, exit at junction 9. At the roundabout take the exit sign posted A5 – Dunstable. Drive down the A5 ignoring any exit to Markyate until you reach a double set of traffic lights. Immediately after those traffic lights turn left into Markyate. At the first junction turn left into the High street and immeadiately right onto Cavendish Road. Travel up the hill and the village hall is located through a gate on your right.
Pickup: We will pick up from the following stations:
Hemel Hempstead: 11:45
Harpenden: 12:15
If you intend to join us please email events at pyrosociety.co.uk so we can estimate numbers for refreshments. Members and non-members are welcome. Please quote your membership number if you are a member.
We hope to welcome you to the AGM.
Regards,
The UK Pyrotechnics Society.

Shame it's such an arkward place to get to by train from the North West
On a Sunday, its pretty much an impossibility, in all honesty.

You can't keep all the people happy all the time. I travelled from London to Stafford for the last one so I'm quite pleased it's further south. The best they can do is move it around to the places where there are concentrations of membership.
Don't shoot the committee - they are doing their best!

Think the committee are organising pickups from various points...

Sorry, yeah, my point wasn't meant as a criticism, more as a matter-of-fact responce. Train travel on Sundays is a bit of a joke.

I will double check the date with BigG. I assumed it would be a Saturday. Unless confirmed otherwise however, I would take it that the AGM is scheduled for Sunday April 20th.
If there is an obious preference we can try to move it to the day before....
