If you guys are looking for some suppliers in general for the uk...This website can find stuff anywhere in the world:Chemical Supplier Search Database
hope this helps
EDIT: you can just search for "Chemical" or a general name like "Pyrotechnic" and it should display some results.

I've always had to get my redgum from Skylighter, strange because the Yacca industry in Australia is quite well established. Skylighter redgum is expensive to buy milled, I get the chunky stuff, a few seconds in the coffee mill reduces it a fine powder with that wonderful sweet smell.

Shellac is available at the hardware store here in AU. It should be widely available anywhere, it is used in high-end polishing, any specialist paint place should carry it. Unfortunately shellac usually comes as flakes and needs to be milled.

For all the Brits here, why don't you all club together and go to A.F Suter in London. I'm pretty sure that they do red gum, I know that they do Accaroides, Gum Arabic & Shellac.
They have a website, just Google A.F Suter Shellac

Red gum is also known as "Yacca" or "accroides resin".

Same same, but different. ;-)

I have only ever got red gum from skylighter it was a reddish brown powder.. Suter's only sell 25 kg amounts so i would like be sure it the same stuff...

Last year i wanted some SGRS (Soluble Glutionous Rice Starch).. i found an art shop selling Rice starch under the binders section so bought a few Kg..But then read

Non-glutinous rice starch is available as a binder from some art suppliers. Unfortunately, it is inferior and leaves cavities in stars.  Glutinous type is not widely available outside the far-east, although I?m sure someone has a supplier for it.

after reading what BigG said i never ever bothered to use it..

I have tried to get some 10 lbs of SGRS from http://www.pyrosupplies.com even though postage cost far more than the actual product i would like to have some SGRS.. but for some reason pyrosupplies wont send outside the USA at the moment..

Anyone got advice on getting some SGRS?..

I think Steve sell SGRS on his web site.

But i think Inoxia is down right now. Maybe it would be worth a try to contact Steve through the PM.
