I can see the obvious - Regs come into effect Jan next year, Part 2 concerning cat 1,2,3 applies from July, existing stock can be supplied until 2017, most of the practical changes concern labelling and the 'new' safety distances, most existing UK controls are retained.........but I can't see anything directly about maximum powder weight. Then again it's not yet Xmas.

I'm in the same boat as you, trying to read through it all.
Does anyone know if the (potential) maximum power weight reduction going to apply to all Cat 3, or just Cat 3 that is 1.4G?
OK, interest in fireworks to be resumed in the spring. It usually is.

the 1000g limit has been on the cards for some time, absolute have been making their stuff to it since the begining. There's not many items that have more than 1000g.
the 1000g covers all CAT3 items (1.3g or 1.4g), CAT2 is 200g.
