as an example

West Yorkshire

HSE (look at the table on page 26)

HSE link is for proposals dated 2002. The MSER is 2005, so presumably that supercedes these proposals?

The West Yorkshire link mentions Hazrd types 3 and 4 , which would cover 1.3G and 1.4G under the 5 KG rule, which would contradict the HSE link.

I'm not being pedantic, it's just that this does get confusing.
OK, interest in fireworks to be resumed in the spring. It usually is. ;)

I think, relevant to current fireworks, unless specific local legislation forbids it, under 5KG of 1.3G / 1.4G can be stored (also a whole host of other things- flares for example, cartridges, etc) But it is 5KG max.

Was basically a response to your post telling people that 5kg of 1.1G can be stored for an unlimited amount of time, I was simply stating its best to check with the relevant authority where you live, thats all

I'll leave it with you David :)

Back on topic Posted Image

I can confirm that Standard will be back in the supermarkets this year (at least Sainsburys anyway). Once again they will be the highly window dressed highly inflated selection boxes on BOGOF although they have finally changed the packaging Posted Image

My advice is to stay away from Supermarkets BOGOF offers, it may seem like you are getting more bang for your buck, but for what they charge and the ammount of fireworks you actually get (not the masses of cardboard packaging around a minisscule tube) you are better going to a dedicated fireworks retailer or garden centre.

Cheers,

I just wonder if the supermarket customers who bought buy one get one free last year have saved a box for this season, meaning they won't need to buy any fireworks at all this year.

The 2008 spec Black Gemini and Space Invaders Rockets (Cosmic) I purchased at the last minute from Morrisons last year actually out performed the bursts from the large Menshun barrages I ordered on line from a respected stockist.
I expect the flash in those rockets would now put them at 1.3G. However it remains to be seen if these rockets will be available (with the same amount of flash ?) this year.
Hope so !!

Hard to say. It's possible what you bought last year was pre-2007 stock.

That said, I don't think Morrison's are doing Cosmic this year.
