needless to say I sell SOS selection boxes and they are up there with Kimbolton Golds etc, not to be confused with cheap "made for supermarket" crap

The regs regarding flash powder wont have affected the performance of a selection box :)

What about if the box contained rockets ?

Good point, forgot about the rocket aspect ;)

are there many boxes that contained/contains rockets over the weight/flash limit?

(question added)

100% agree Stu.
The SOS is a high quality selection box, perfect for 5m gardens.

the brothers companion box is quite good for value you get 5 sibs (single ignition) fireworks and 6 display fauntains the sibs are not great quality well not in my opinion. But they have great effects for not to demanding desplays

Yep, good shout there...The Companion box is pretty good if you're spending £30 or so...Myself I prefer something a little larger
and went for a Wild Cube box last year...absolutely first class, 21 fireworks (inc a C/W) with Fountains, Roman Candles and some
fantastic mines...So good I've got it again for this year :)

I know I've said it before but, in my opinion, you should never buy a selection box - or any fireworks for that matter-
from a supermarket...Really, what is the point?

But the thing is, all of us on here are hardly the 'norm' when it comes to pyro. What we are forgetting is that a vast
majority of people are happy with their supermarket purchases regarding fireworks. They want as many as they can get for
as a little as they can pay. They'll stand out in their gardens and happily watch the pretty little fountains and the
odd crappy rocket go up and they are happy with that.

As soon as anyone has more than a passing interest in fireworks then they'll be off to places like Epic, Galactic and
Fireworks Crazy - to name but three. I'll be in Morrisons or Sainsbury's just before the 5th Nov and stand gob-smacked
as the queues for fireworks stretch down half the shop but then have to remind myself of what I said in the 2nd paragraph
above. Fireworks for most people are something they spend £20- £30 on if they can afford it and be happy with the selection
box and BOGOF sib that they paid out for. I can sort of understand where they are coming from but ask the majority of those
people if they think people like me and Monsterberry (and others) are nuts for saving for 6+ months, then watching £500 - £1000
worth of pyro go up into the sky, then I bet most of them would say yes we are, especially if they knew I have very
little disposable income.

When you have a passion, you'll do all you can to indulge that passion- whatever the cost. Whilst we struggle to understand
those who are happy with a supermarket selection box, they're never going to understand the joy of watching three Fire One's
going off together as part as a finale (as I did for my party last year) knowing those said SIBs and the other pyro in
just my finale cost over £200... Me mad? Not at all...It's simply a passion.

I totally agree, but one advantage of the Supermarkets is they are open in the evenings- when many people get their first chance to shop. Needs and time, and all that.
OK, interest in fireworks to be resumed in the spring. It usually is. ;)
