Found a course aimed at theatre tecs in use of stage pyros, spoke to the tutor, you get a cert of competance for using stage pyros after a one day course and for using pro fireworks after a further three days. The course is ?100+vat per person per day if we raise 10 - 20 people we can have a course to ourselves if we can find the venue.

Anyone interested??????

There appears to be a shortage of options when it comes to training in various aspects of the pyrotechnics industry. Surely there are members on this forum that are either in the industry or well connected to people within the industry that could possibly assist in this area by putting forward a proposal to some of the established pyrotechnic display companies here in the UK.
I think a lot of these companies recieve large amounts of e-mails with regards to this from the average man on the street after he has become exited by fireworks after Nov 5th or after seeing a display hence the e-mail queries are probably just deleted.
Possibly a formal approach from BPS representing BPS members would have a far greater impact and would be taken more seriously.
This will also probably help the way forward with establishing BPS within the industry.
From what I have seen on a lot of the USA sites, they are far more pro active when it comes to training and it would be nice to see the UK guy's follow suite.

Comments, suggestions.... ideas ?
