I've been watching this but I have decided I don't need another one even if it does seem very cheap.

Is any one else interested - should make light work of pressing bearings or whatever you want to use it for.

Does seem very cheap. I'm not too clued up on the whole electrical side of things so what does '3 Phase power supply required' mean?

was going to post this anyway so I can answer your question Karl. 99% of residential properties only have single phase electric ie 240v (if you look at a normal power line they carry 3 cables, only one of these will go into a home with a negative/nuetral line)

3 phase uses all 3 cables and runs at 415v so without an inverter this wouldnt be any good to joe public (I know 2 people who have 3 phase in their property, but that is because they both have workshops that use 3 phase tools)

hope this helps

Yes - as dogsbody says - this probably isn't very useful to joe public.

I posted it because lots of people on here aren't very joe public-ish.

It may or may not run off an inverter, if it will, crack on, they can be had cheaply off ebay and you can use them to power other 3 phase equipment, which often can be had very cheaply for the very reason that it's not much use to joe.

If you are on good terms with your neighbours either side, and if they are on different phases, and if you have some long extension leads, you may be able to.............oh dear better not go there.

It may also be possible for a handy chap to swap the motor / pump out for a single phase one. (where is the handy chap, on hols?, been a bit quiet lately :) )

Bottom line is unless you like to tinker a bit it's probably not for you - but at the moment it's cheap enough to buy just to hold the gate open.
