Thanks martin , they are only 10 mins up the road from me.
Any idea Offhand what i would expect to pay for a cheap powder.

I think most of them (and they seemed to have dozens) were between 30 and 40 quid for a 1lb (454g) bottle.
I think they sold me a more expensive powder than I needed though. I don't know if that's the going rate elsewhere.
It was about 6 months or so ago I was last there.

Wow i had no idea they were that expensive.
Last time i bought powder it was about 8 per pound and i thought that was dear.

I bet Reverend Ron pays nothing like that.

8 pounds a pound? Haha, here it costs something like 30 pounds a pound.

Though just like in the UK BP is licensed while NC and KP substitute for BP aren't. I can't understand why.

Not that I like any kind of licensing, but they should at least be somewhat logical.

For what it's worth, in the US black powder by mail order costs from $15 (Goex) to $22 (Swiss) per pound, depending on the brand, with a $25 Hazmat charge per order (any amount). It's cheaper by the case. High street price is about $25 for Goex, but of course no Hazmat charge. Pyrodex is about $15 mail order, or $25 in the store nearest me.

BP is about £30 a kilo over here, I can get it for £20 a kilo if I bulk buy (we have 3 certificate holders to Aquire and Keep so can store up to 45kg but normally look at a max of 30kg between us for a season (will go up with new cannon arriving).

Well it was 25 - 30 years back.

Is it true that you can legally own a cannon without a licence over there ?
