I'll tell you what - you don't get much from them. I started out with a large biscuit tin full of charred cones & by the time I had crushed it up there was only a fraction left !!
They are easy to cook though, due to the large surface area : volume ratio.
Made some Slow Gold with it today for 20mm pumped stars for my rocket headers.

I would be interested to hear how cone charcoal performs.
Im not impressed with the pine cone charcoal. It doesn't burn properly with the ratios I normally use.
I made a large ish batch of Slow Gold with it & it was a disaster. I'm thinking I could use these stars as fireproof brickettes, it was so bad !!
Wasted the Ti sponge I had left

I might chuck them in the mill to break up to try to filter out & salvage some Ti, I'm sure it will be safe it won't even burn with the blowlamp !
