I wanted to say that the NH4NO3 and water solution thing works if you do it right.
And it works very well. The water doesnt have to be warm cold is better.
But one litre of water in a bowl and then disolve 45 ssp(soupspoon or something larger than tablespoon)NH4NO3 it is about 1 or more kg.Dont but rolled news-papers in the solutuion but open ones and try them on a radiator or in a warm place.
Dont worry there isnt any NH4NO3 vapours because it is heavy ,only water vapours away. Then if the newspapers are very try roll them together VERY tightly.
Then you can light it.If the newspaper doesnt ignite then but more NH4NO3 into the solution. If the newspapers burns very rapidly with a flame then reduce the amount of the NH4NO3 in the solution. And thats the way its done.

Be a safe pyro not a dead one.
